Leather is a living surface. It will mark, mellow, and grow more handsome with use — that is the point.
Wipe daily with a soft, dry cloth to lift surface dust. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sun, rain, or heat sources, which can cause fading and stiffness.
Condition once a quarter with a small amount of neutral leather balm — work it in with a clean cloth in slow circles, then buff. Do not use silicone, mink oil, or shoe polish on bag leather; they sit on the surface and dull the grain.
If your piece gets caught in monsoon rain, blot it with a dry towel and air-dry away from radiators or windows. Do not use a hairdryer.
Hardware is solid brass and will tarnish slowly into a softer patina. To slow the patina, polish with a dry brass-polish cloth twice a year. To honour it, do nothing.
Store in the dust-bag your piece arrived in. For structured bags, fill with crumpled tissue paper to hold the shape. Avoid plastic — leather needs to breathe.
Stitching, edge-paint, and hardware are warranted for life. If anything begins to fail, write to the atelier.
